Kyra Betts, CNM became a nurse with a concentration on labor and delivery after experiencing a complicated and high-risk pregnancy. In 2015, Kyra started her pursuit to a nursing career at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and received her BSN in 2018. She started working for Riley Maternity Center at Methodist Hospital were she was exposed to midwifery care and ultimately discovered her passion for serving in this field. In April of 2020, Kyra started at Frontier Nursing School and graduated with her MSN with a focus on Midwifery care in September 2022.

Anthony Wallace is Dean of Students at Tindley Summit Academy. He studied Special Educ. at Marian University College of Graduate and Online Programs. He also studied Secondary Education/History at Alabama A&M University. He is currently working towards a Masters of Art’s (M.A) Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling atChristian University and Theological Seminary.

Serena Duncan is a fertility/childbirth doula, HypnoBirthing instructor, and surgical technologist. She focuses on community outreach in an effort to create more safe spaces for minority birthing people so that they can feel educated and empowered throughout their parenthood journeys. From years of working in healthcare, and from personal experience, she’s seen first hand how birth experiences are different for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ people than that of their counterparts. She’s determined to be a part of changing this truth and making birthing safer for all people, no matter who they are or where choose to birth.

Dr Johari Miller received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and has been practicing in Lafayette since 2001. She strives to foster health and wellness in families by encouraging healthy eating, exercise, vaccinations, safety, proactive care of chronic diseases and the elimination of second hand smoke. She views her role as a physician, coach and partner with parents in the care of children. With this philosophy in mind, Dr. Miller enjoys long-standing relationships with families as they watch their children grow. She likes reading, traveling, listening to music and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Sylvia Saxena, FNP is a Sr. Health Equity Analyst at Purdue University’s Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering. Sylvia graduated from Purdue University with her Master’s in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner, FNP) program in 2018. As a FNP, Sylvia worked in Prenatal and Women’s Health at a federally qualified health center (FQHC) for a few years, and then transitioned to community-based work focused on addressing health equity. Sylvia’s expertise includes working with diverse and rural populations, working with FQHC’s, promoting health screenings and chronic disease education, infant and maternal health, and building collaborations, capacity, and partnerships. Sylvia is passionate about and committed to addressing social determinants of health.
